The idea

Hashimoto’s disease is an autoimmune condition that affects the thyroid. Hashiona set out to help people live with it day to day: what to eat, how to track symptoms and what the research says.

Eva Galant, founder and CEO, has the condition herself. She and Konrad started work on the app in early 2020, just before the pandemic, and the Polish press named them as its creators.

The product

The app offered a personalised nutrition plan with more than 1,000 recipes, automatic shopping lists and unlimited chat with a clinical dietitian.

Users tracked their symptoms in the app, with data from Google Fit, Garmin, Polar and Oura. The “Step by Step to Remission” programme was based on more than 1,200 scientific articles.

The Android app launched in Polish in January 2021, and the iOS app followed in October 2021. By then the app had more than 10,000 users.

Konrad’s role

Konrad made the first commit on the native Android app, written in Kotlin, in March 2020. In 2021 the app moved to Flutter, and the backend ran on Node.js, Strapi and Ktor, on Google Cloud and AWS.

He was a founding shareholder and board member of Hashiona sp. z o.o. and a director of Hashiona Ltd in the UK. The company grew from two people to nine by January 2021.

Konrad stepped down as a director in November 2025, and Hashiona Ltd was dissolved in February 2026. The Android app is still listed on Google Play.

Awards and funding

In autumn 2020 Hashiona was one of 11 startups in the fourth edition of the MIT Enterprise Forum CEE accelerator. At DemoDay it won the CVC Young Innovator Award (PLN 100,000) and the Audience Award, and was one of five startups picked for a one-week bootcamp in Boston.

In April 2021 Hashiona announced a pre-seed round of about €450,000 from Draper University, KAYA, Calm/Storm and a Lower Silesian regional fund, together with healthcare angel investors.

The same month, My Company Polska named Hashiona one of the 10 most promising Polish medtech companies.
